E-mail notifications re-activated

The e-mail notification feature that was previously available before the last update to the site has been re-enabled.

Please post any issues with this feature as comments on this blog entry. If you have comments about any other features, please add them to the MaplePrimes Suggestions forum

 I forgot to enable the permission for users to use the module. You should see a "Subscribe Post" link underneath of all posts on the site.

You are also automatically subscribed to any posts that you create or reply to.

In My account > Subscriptions > categories , the last section is "Userpoints". What is that?

That is probably due to an incompatablitly with the Userpoints (maplepoints) module, and the subscriptions module.

It shouldn't be a big deal, but I'll see if I can find out why it is appearing there.

subscription to threads

In My account > Subscriptions > threads, I see in this moment 19 entries (4 blog and 15 forum), corresponding to threads to which I have posted. Some of them are quite old, but this one is included.

Clearly, these are a fraction of the threads to which I have posted. My guess is that this list will enlarge as the scanning of the database continues. Is it right?

On the other hand, I have not received yet an email notification of Will's last post here. I think that I should.

personally i would not like to get notified for each thread i ever posted, but only for those i subscribed

and i guess the feature will not scan posts beyond it

thus your posts without subscribtions ( = while the feature was not present) should not come up

So, it should be just a matter of uncheck those that are not of interest.  But  for me , the  problem is just the  opposite:  I have never received  any notiffication  since   August 2005, though Will then said that I should receive them. And now, eg I have  this thread subscribed and yet I am not receiving any notiffication (the same holds for another subscribed thread with this feature present).

 The threads that you see in the list were the ones that you were subscribed to before the last update to MaplePrimes, you are automatically subscribed to new threads as you post/reply to to them. There is no scan to add you to threads in the past.

If you do not wish to be automatically subscribed to threads you post to, click on "My Account" on the top left, then "Edit". Scroll down to "Subscription settings" and uncheck "Autosubscribe". Save your settings.

that I am not receiving the notifications that I should receive, eg from this thread to which I am subscribed.

Again, I never received any email notification from  MaplePrimes, before or after the last update.

It would be quite difficult to single-out a user and have some notifications not sent!  I would first suspect that there might be a problem with the email address that you have registered with the site.

It has always been right and remains unchanged since my registration in 2005.

On the other hand, email notifications sent to a wrong email address should bounce. That would be easy to check by the system manager. Will has never told me about that.

i have study maple for many days .now i have two questions about DAE with bvp probelem . maple 11 doesn't seem to solve the problems.

the question one is :

k1'(t)= -1              (1)      

k1(t)-2*a(t)*k2(t)=0       (2)

a(t)=v'(t)                 (3 )    

j(t)=a'(t)                （4）              

m-a^2(t)-g^2(t)=0          (5)       

g(t)*k2(t)=0               (6)

n+k2(t1)(m^2-g^2(t1))=0     (7)

the boundary is：v(0)=0    v(t1)=p(constant )    a(0)=0  a(t1)=0

where,  k1(t),k2(t),a(t),g(t),j(t),v(t) is fucntion of "t" ，t  range :0-t1 ,t1 is unkown ,m,n, p are known constant 。

the question two  is :

x1’(t)=x2(t)       x1(t0)=x0                

x2’ (t)=u(t)          x2(t0)=v0       t0 ,tf ,x0,v0 ,v1 为已知量

i have study many days but fail to solve ,can you give some help to solve them with numeric method?
