Classic, worksheet and document mode are enough to confuse me even if I did know math. Classic gave me the answer I expected while worksheet and document mode (maple 11.01) had identical answers unless I am mistaken due to the confusion mentioned above. Removing the space did correct for both ws and doc mode. Many thanks to everyone.

Thanks for the code. When I ran it the evalf just printed out to the right of the fractions. When removed, just the fractions printed out. Is this to be expected? Thanks again for your time. Paul
