I would like use solve to get the set of solution of this inequation and my unknown is x and a is a paramter

@Christian Wolinski

let a given

how can solve f(x) > a

Many cases will be discussed:

for example case 1) if a> 1  then f(x)> a has solution empty set

case 2:    0<=a<=1 , we solve f(x)>a

case 3 :

etc

how can we get all cases using maple and maple solves f(x)>a

many thanks

@Zeineb

Please Run this code, I would like see the solution if possible

Run_code.mw

Thanks

@Mariusz Iwaniuk

please can you run the code with a=5, b=7

because I can't run the code using Maple 18, I would like to see the solution in general case in this case

@nm

thank you for the code

I use maple 18, I run your code but I can not display the solution.

I think you use a new version of maple.

How can i fix this problem in maple 18, no solution displayed with the same code

@ecterrab

thank you for your remark.

I removed bc[4] but the code run withour any error but no solution displayed

@Kitonum

Thank you for your answer.

But,  I think also, if k=0 the equation f(x)=b has an unique solution

that is the set of k will be the same interval ( as you proposed ) but it must be closed on zero.

@Rouben Rostamian

I assign values but there is not solution

also using dsolve without option numeric there is no solution displayed

@Christian Wolinski

I agree with you about the assumptions

But how do you reformulate the equations

@Preben Alsholm

Thanks for your remarks. I just add multiplication in equation 2 but I execute the code I get some trivial solutions and other strange solutions...how can I simplify the strange ones.

@Preben Alsholm

First of all, thank you for your code.

Second, the problem is in sys1, the command subs doesn't working

Code_Integro_diff_equation.mw

@Preben Alsholm

The problem in subs y1 and x1 in the intero-differential equaiton

Error, (in dsolve/numeric/process_input) input system must be an ODE system, got independent variables {t, u}
Error, (in plots/odeplot) input is not a valid dsolve/numeric solution

@Preben Alsholm

Thank youu for your answer

I am using Maple 18, when I run your code I get the following  error

Error, (in dsolve/numeric/process_input) input system must be an ODE system, got independent variables {t, u}
Error, (in plots/odeplot) input is not a valid dsolve/numeric solution

@tomleslie

thank you for all details
