I have constructed a Maple routine which makes multiple calls to the dsolve numeric methods rkf45 and dverk78. I have been running on Windows Vista. Recently I began experimenting with Kubuntu Linux, thinking this might run faster. I was surprised to see that the same routine with the same numeric input gives different results depending on whether it is run on Kubuntu or Windows. Digits is set well beyond the hardware accuracy of my machine. I have not set errorest and so I assume it is using the interpolant method as the manual says it will. I am running Maple 13.01 on both the Windows and Kubuntu. I am using a beta version of the upcoming Karmic release; is it possible that this is causing problems? Thank you for any help you can give.
