I can not get maple to return a solution for f(x). I am looking to find a function with arc length 1 from

(0,0) to (1/2, 1/2). Or, in other words, the geodesics in (R², d₁) from (0,0) to S_d1(0,1), where d_p(x,y) is defined as

This really isn't import to solving my problem, unless someone sees a flaw in my thinking.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks
