Question: How do I assign a variable to a 2D-Math expression?

Hi all,

I'm editing a scientific document in Maple document mode. I'd like to assign a mathematical result to a variable, which is a 2D-math expression.

An example:

I'd like to assign the result of

diff(x^2,x)

to the expression

df(x)/dx

so when I evaluate df(x)/dx, the result is diff(x^2,x)df(x)/dx is in this case a variable name, and its value is the derivative, computed by Maple.

I already tried putting quotation marks around the expression, without any result.

Any suggestions to the problem?

Thanks in advance!

Giel
