The strange thing is that it works about 5% of the time from the GUI although I have not figured out how to reproduce success or failure reliably (after many days of trying). I have found the same problem on three different installions of Maple on 3 different macs. Looking in the folder you mention (/Library/Frameworks/Maple.Framework/Versions/10/afm ?), I see that it is full of font files. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Are you saying that there is a way to setup pdf printing in Maple already? I am using Maple for the Mac and I do have Adobe Acrobat. I am looking for Maple to support something like plotsetup(pdf,plotoutput="mypdf.pdf") Right now I print to a ps file and then use epstopdf to convert to pdf. This is a pain and isn't very portable. - Mark
