I think I got it now!

the "four roots" are

a, -a mod n,

b ,-b mod n

as you computed above.

I misunderstood what the notes meant.

I thought it's saying there are two root, then you just 'add'  plus and minus to them to get 4 roots....

I hope this time I am right LOL

Thanks.

It's a bit clearer now.

so there is a typo in the notes for x,

now I will try to understand the theorem.

we find a and b using chrem

the 'four roots', is refering to

a, -a mod n,

b ,-b mod n

or

plus/minus a, b?

Thanks.

what about that

Power(y,(p+1)/4) mod p

Power(y,(q+1)/4) mod q

number?

May I ask if you are familiar with that topic? Virtual coin tossing ( in number theory )

Could you give an example in how to work out that

a= +/- number and b = +/- number?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Thanks or letting me know.

Hi there,

Thanks or letting me know.

Casper

that's an amazing command.

well, I thought I am nearly finished the draft code, then I think I am pretty much messed it up...

I couldnt use n>20. and the Matrices have different 'Order'.

I have got to sleep now.

Hope I cant find some freshing codes next morning.

Thank you all for the help.

BTW: just now i CANT connect to mapleprimes. It happens A LOT recently. Is there a Database maintance or update kind od thing going on ? very inconnvient.

thanks, i will keep that in mind.

could you explain briefly why I shouldnt?

and as I was browing the help page in Maple, I found another way to create the Matrix. what;s the difference between, is one better (more efficient? less memory?) than another? (both in LinearAlgebra:-Modular)

Create(127,4,4,'random',integer);

Random(127,4,4,integer);

Thank you.
