Good Morning Dr.Carl,

I tring again  to reply you at mapleprimes.

Would you be kind to help me with the attached Maple file procedure. In the worksheet I have three (3) yellow equations that I’m trying to program in Maple that will yield a result in a matrix-form as alpha below the equations.
All the diagonals are 1.0 which means that at each reference pile location when i = j the result is 1.0, that is if i = j then alpha_tmp[i,j] = 1.0, elif eta[i,j] = 0.0, then aphla_tmp[i,j] = aplha_1[i,j], elif eta[i,j]= 1.57 (radian) then
alpha_tmp[i,j] = alpha_2[i,j],elif eta[i,j]<> 1.57 and eta[i,j] <> 0.0, then alpha_tmp[i,j] = aplha_3[i,j]. I have written a procedure in Maple to do exactly that, but I was having error messages.
Please see if you could help with the procedure. Also I would like to know if the same problem can solved using Maple element-wise operator to acheieve the same result.

Hi Markiyan,

Thanks for looking at my worksheet. I made modification to the worksheet with regards to the typo of eqn1 instead of equ1. My questions to you is how do you solve problem like this in Maple?. The equations given are the equations in the paper, the rest are constraints as shown in the worksheet.
