Hi Christopher,

Thanks for the note. I will ensure it is added to our bugs database.

Hi,

You will need to get a copy of Maple 13, which supports Vista (we do not sell older versions once a new release is available). You can check the Maplesoft webstore for details.

Best wishes,

Several of you have asked about the results of this survey; I have gathered this information from our developer who is working on this project. Here is what he had to say about it:

"A while ago we posted a survey asking MaplePrimes visitors a number of questions about the Maple user interface.  Many people participated in the survey and we were quite happy with the response rate.  As of last night, 102 people had completed the survey, and responses still trickle in.  We can't release all the results, but we can give a brief summary of the key points of what we learned.

Some of the most used features include copy and paste, plots, matrices, toolbars, and context menus.  Some of the features for which people frequently said they "didn't know what that is" includes slide show, document blocks, annotations, explore, and code edit regions.  If you haven't tried one or more of these features you should try them out.

We also asked what features were the easiest and most difficult to use.  Some of the features the respondents found easiest to use include menus, toolbars, 1-D math input, text mode, and packages.  Some of the features that were found to be more difficult to use include document blocks, tables, drawing, 2-D math input, maplets, and spreadsheets.

Thank you again to everyone who responded to the survey.  We will continue to work to improve the Maple user interface and the results of this survey will help in that process."

Hello,

Please start a new topic in the appropriate forum, for example How do I ...? with Maple.

Thank you.

Our documentation group has opened an SCR (software change request) for this. Thanks for the heads-up.

Hi Casper,

We are aware with the issues with MaplePrimes being unavailable; this will be fixed in the very near future with a server upgrade. We'll let you know when it's completed.

Hi Alec,

I spoke to the developer in charge of this package and he is investigating this - I'll keep you updated. Thanks for the notes.

Hi Alec,

Thank you for your comments. W.r.t Maplesoft responding to posts, a gentle reminder that we still consider MaplePrimes a site for and by the community, and while we will definitely try to respond where possible, we will generally wait for the community to answer first. Additionally, most of our staff does not work on weekends and so those threads may need to wait a few days.

I am very much committed to making sure this works; however, acting as community manager is not my only responsibility at Maplesoft. I appreciate the community’s understanding of this; in return I am sincerely doing my best to support the community. Suggestions are always welcomed.

Finally, I wanted to mention that one thing we are considering for the new site is to have a link to display unanswered posts (which would make it more difficult to miss these). Please let me know if you like this idea.

Thanks,
Stephanie

The semicolon is not necessary when using 2-D notation in Standard Maple. However, it may be used to separate several statements you wish to execute at once.
