I am also new to Maple, and although this is an old topic, it is related to my question and so I will rather just post it in here inside of a new topic.

Anyway, my question is with fitting sets of points.

Lets say I have the points (make them simple): (1,2), (2,3), (3,4), (4,5), (5,6) 

How would I go about fitting the set of points by means of a quadratic function, and a cubic function?

Well, that was what was given by the instructor, and apparantly it was wrong.  I actually got help from someone in the class and got the right prcNewton.
