I came across this poll,

and thought it would be nice to see what software people use here (some people have already said that the don't actually use maple, they only post here to help people).

So far it looks like not many people use Maple, hopefully once more people vote this poll will become more accurate:

I gave Maple the command

> ?fft 

to see how to do the fast fourier transform in Maple, and I what I got was a page that told me to use the commands:

> with(Matlab)

>v:=<1,2,3,2,3,4>

>Matlab[fft](v)

Why is maple using matlab ??

What is a kernel, and why does Maple need to access the internet to perform simple commands?  I'm sure I've used maple without the internet before.
