Thank you

Here's the link to the 2024 Maple conference talk:

Using Maple with Jupyter and Python | Training Session - Maple Conference 2024

@dharr

This was a great reply. I did actually enter my code in a code edit region but I did not know about any of the other info in your reply.

My previous information was from Microsoft CoPilot. Your solution allows me to use straight Python code in the code edit region without any markup (very neat).

Could you please tell me, what is the best source of information regarding use Python within Maple 2025?

Thank you kindly.

@dharr

Ok, I understand the explanation and I understand that this behaviour is by design.

Thank you for taking the time to explain it!

I agree that the correct result is x^4/4+x^2 + constant.

I left out the constant because my understanding is that Maple does not return a constant of integration and therefore I didn't expect to see it in Maple's reply.

To me, Maple is in fact returning a constant of integration that it has determined to be 1. This allows Maple to nicely factor the solution. Using the logic that you suggest, Maple might have returned any arbitrary constant and this you would argue would also be correct. I find this very confusing and don't understand the logic that Maple is employing in it's solution.

I also did this in Mathematica and it comes back with  x^4/4+x^2.

I am genuinely confuddled and need some more explanation of what is going on?

Hello Carl,

I thank you for your reply.

I may need to use this solution, but I was hoping to be able to do this for the code edit region alone.

I believe that the ability to change the font size at the code edit region level was available in prior versions of Maple and the technique is described in one of Prof. Scott Gould's videos.
