See attached.  I have stared at this long enough to the point I need some FRESH eyes on this.  Why does MAPLE return FALSE on the last 2 statements

Attached are results I obtained in MAPLE 12.  Can anyone explain the contradiction?

In short, if I sum from n = 0 to some integer I get a FALSE when testing the equality, which is what I would EXPECT.  However, if I change the integer to a variable to represent that integer such as m--> the result is TRUE?

Note the change in the variable of beta to alpha inside the series expression within the parentheses.

Can anyone explain these results?  I m trying to check on a more complicated form of this expression, but cannot proceed without understanding what is occurring in this case.

See attached.  I am not sure but I think eq #4 is the same as the HESSIAN operator.  Why can I not get MAPLE to express this in the form of a matrix with the NABLA command? Note the discrepancy of NABLA with theDELoperator as well shown by eq's 5 & 6.

Am I missing some command to get NABLA to carry out the correct operation or am I not interpreting what NABLA actually is?

I am running MAPLE 12 on WINDOWS XP & recently updated my JAVA and now anytime I try to use HELP, MAPLE hangs.  I have to enter the TASK MGR to terminate MAPLE, because I cannot do anything else.

Anyone have a FIX on this?
